A random deployment.
Or, "I am starting a music blog."
Yesterday, as I was partaking in my customary post-school run, pre-work, under-caffeinated wander in the park, listening to music, enjoying the first vaguely spring-like day since the snowpocalypse I began to formulate an idea. I’m going to start a new music blog.
In recent years I’ve become voracious consumer of shiny new music, and as radio has given away to algorithms as my primary form of music discovery the subscription services have set my access levels to ALL THE MUSIC ALL THE TIME. I’ve got into the habit of making my wife monthly playlists of the good stuff (I have a couple of years’ worth of those) and I estimate I easily listen to 50+ new (to me) tunes a week while I'm getting on with other stuff.
The plan is simply document the good discoveries, with a skew towards things that can be deployed as YouTube videos. The only selection criteria is that I like it. I’ve repurposed a domain name I’ve had laying around for about 15 years and spun up a site/twitter account to go with it. The plan is to fail early, so expect a lot to change in the coming weeks.
Now, I'm off to have a coffee and select the next victim candidate.
